At the presentation of the Mate 30 smartphone, the CEO of Huawei said that the Mate X foldable smartphone will go on sale next month in China.

While the first folding smartphone from the company did not go as planned during launch, Huawei is however, working hard to ensure the success of the second generation of its foldable phone.

According to recent report, the Chinese tech giant might be working on how to furnish the second generation of the Mate X with stylus pen.

In February this year, Huawei Technologies filed a patent with the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) for an 'Electronic device'. Meanwhile, this patent was however, included in the WIPO database (World Intellectual Property Office) on September 26, 2019.

The patent shows a foldable phone, comparable to the already introduced Huawei Mate X. This time, however, Huawei has fitted a compartment on the underside to store a stylus.

This compartment is processed in the side bar, in which the camera system is also integrated. It is special to see that there is still room for this. Meanwhile, the current Mate X has the USB port at this location.

Huawei seems to be clearly intending to refine the design of the current Mate X. Last year, the Chinese manufacturer introduced a stylus pen known as M-Pen for its Mate 20 X gaming smartphone.

Due to the fact that the foldable smartphone have a larger display surface compared to a regular phones, the addition of a stylus pen becomes more attractive.

As for the launch date of this device, it is still unknown when it will be expected but we'll keep our eyes open as we will continue to update you as per information gathered.
