At the IFA 2019 event, Samsung announced the official launch date of the Galaxy Fold after many delays since April. Accordingly, the device went on sell yesterday in the Korean market with a constant price of 1,980 USD.

The reason why Samsung delayed the Galaxy Fold sale is because this foldable smartphone has a screen error that affects the user experience. Therefore, Samsung was forced to postpone the shelves of this super screen folding product to fix the error.

And according to Sammobile's findings, the changes Samsung made on the new Galaxy Fold are on the screen of the device which is now protected by a special layer of stickers right at the top of the screen. Initially, this protective layer was designed to be completely separate from the chassis of the machine.

Although Samsung has warned that removing this protective layer will affect the device, many people did not pay attention or perhaps forgot the warning and still remove the protective layer because they think this is just a screen protector, thereby resulting to a serious computer problem.

Besides, the hinge of the Galaxy Fold is also overcome by Samsung dust cover by adding a new protective cover. The Korean company however said that it also reinforced the folding screen panel by adding metal layers below the screen, avoiding outside dirt particles that cause panel collisions even if they are located inside the camera body.

Finally, although Samsung hasn't changed any significant design details on the Galaxy Fold, the phone's body thickness and weight have increased as well. The improved version of Galaxy Fold is now 15.7mm thick and weighs 276g compared to 15.5mm and 263g on the previous version. However, these small changes certainly will not affect much to the user experience.
