W hile Huawei launched its Mate 30 series with no pre-installed Google apps present in the phone, some tech geek has managed to figure out a way to get it all installed with just few steps.
Of course, we should know that this devices, Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro has a limited availability and thus, mostly to China which from outset doesn't even care so much about Google properties. On the other hand, international press review units are working so hard to get it all fixed.
At first, it was possible to install Google Play Services and Google Apps on Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro but that last for about a week or so, and thus, with the help of LZPlay. However, that method appears not to be available anymore.
And now, there seems to be a new work around of installing Google Apps and Services on Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro as the community has come together to tackle this issue.
This method however, implies downloading a file which is no longer available due to copyright issues, but the method in theory works. According to XDA, it involves backing up a device which already has GMS installed, and restore those files to a fresh device or one that has been reset.
Hence, below is the new way to install Google Play Store and Google Apps on Huawei Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro.
- Users need to back up their files to HiSuite on a PC and factory reset their phones.
- Install the Google apps provided in the downloadable zip in the thread.
- Unzip the provided backup image zip to your HiSuite backup folder on the PC.
- Restore the backup to your device, ensuring that you also restore the “system settings” from the backup image to your phone.
- Once the provided backup has been “restored” (aka installed) on your phone, you need to restart your device.
- Next, ensure that you get into App Settings and clear all data for the Google apps that you installed, and grant all the permissions that those apps request.
- Reboot for good measure.
- Launch the Google Play Store while having an active internet connection on your phone.
