State of Play happens to be an event where Sony PlayStation usually has new reveals or announcements. Recently, a new rumor cropped up online, suggesting that Sony's State Play event may hold this December.
Of course, it is usually streamed live on YouTube and while it can be a pre-recorded program, the videos do get uploaded on the official YouTube channel. Some eagle-eyed fans have however, spotted that the official YouTube channel was updated roughly five days ago which is around the same time as the Resident Evil 3 Remake artwork was leaked on the PlayStation Store.
Meanwhile, Niko Partner Analyst Daniel Ahmed had suggested that Resident Evil 3 Remake wasn’t supposed to get leaked this early. He was subtly hinting at another event happening before The Game Awards which could be a new State of Play based on the update to the playlist and considering that the fact that this leak occurred on the PlayStation Store.
Games are usually uploaded on the PlayStation Store if they are going up for pre-order and it is possible that Capcom was planning to reveal the new Resident Evil 3 Remake and Resident Evil: Resistance during a State of Play event.
However, It is also possible that both of these announcements are planned for later this month since we have The Game Awards and Jump Festa as two upcoming events.
Furthermore, Sony has made some big announcements during their previous State of Play events. They revealed the release date for Death Stranding, The Last of Us Part II, and announced some new games for the PlayStation VR during a VR-focused State of Play event.
