Huawei's smartphone sales in April surpassed Samsung's global market share

Based on the data from market research company Counterpoint Research, Huawei led Samsung Electronics with a market share of 21.4% in terms of smartphone brand in April (19.1%).

Counterpoint research company analysis said, "China's smartphone market has begun to recover, but Samsung's Galaxy S20 sales are weak, which is partly affected by the Indian epidemic blockade."

In fact, India’s smartphone sales in April fell by 96% from March (7.25 million) to 290,000 units, due to the closure of Indian factories. Global smartphone sales in April were 69.37 million, a decrease of 41% from the same period last year (1175.7 million units).

In the Chinese market, Huawei has the highest market share. Its market share in April last year was 31%, while OPPO , Vivo and Xiaomi accounted for 49% in total.

In April of this year, Huawei's share (44%) was 4 percentage points higher than that of the other three companies (40%).
