Just few days ago, I encountered a booting issue on my PC running on Windows 10 "20H2" which is the latest update. However, my PC hung on boot and thus, showed blank/black screen, I waited for few hours thinking that it'll eventually boot but to no avail. Then I went on research to find out what exactly is the problem, that's when I noticed that many users have reported this very case on many social media handle, including Reddit, Facebook and Twitter. Hence, this happen to be a common problem to many Windows 10 users.
According to the answers gotten from the research i made, some blog posts said that downgrading to previous version of Windows 10 could be a solution to solve the problem, while some blog posts suggested what could result to such problem.

What Could Possibly Cause Delay/Hang/Stuck On Windows 10:
- USB Dongling: Unplug every USB cable or drive connected to the computer as it may slow down the booting and thus, may cause Windows 10 to hang on boot
- Check For CD: Check if you have inserted any CD plate inside your PC and forgot to remove it.
Major Cause Of Windows 10 Hang/Stuck On Boot:
Till date, no one has found the major cause of Windows 10 hanging or stocking on boot. Based on what some blog posts said, it could be that the new Windows 10 update has some flaws which could result to that.However, according to test by an AndroBliz staff, we can say that we have found a hint that could cause Windows 10 hanging on boot. Like we already said, the recently updated Windows 10 focused mostly on security and in one way or the other, you must have bleached the security which may result to stucking on boot.
We have already made three different attempts and can confirm that the major cause of Windows 10 stucking on boot is installing VPN in a computer running on Windows 10, this actually could be a harm to the computer, thereby resulting to hanging on boot. Method 1: Reset Your Computer
Boot To Recovery Environment (winRE):
Booting to Recovery Environment happens to be the only option you have at this moment because you can't bypass the blank screen or press any other thing on your computer.How To Boot To Recovery Environment (winRE) When The Computer Is Off:
To boot into Windows Recovery Environment (winRE), you will repeatedly turn your device off, then on:- Hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.
- Press the power button again to turn on your device.
- On the first sign that Windows has started (for example, some devices show the manufacturer’s logo when restarting. For instance, mine is Toshiba) hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.
- Press the power button again to turn on your device.
- When Windows restarts, hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.
- Then press the power button again to turn on your device.
- Allow your device to fully restart. You will enter winRE.
Now that you are in winRE, you will follow the steps below to restore your computer back to track.
How To Reset Windows 10 When The Computer Is Off:
1.) After following the aforementioned method on how to boot your computer to Windows Recovery Environment (winRE), select Advance Start-up from the next screen shown to you.
2.) Click on Troubleshoot

3.) Reset this PC
4.) Select Reset and Keep My Files (By so doing, you won't lose any of your files)

5.) Now wait for some time after which you'll get prompt asking you if you really want to reset or to cancel it, select Reset and take a sit back because it'll take time to finish.

After resetting, your system will reboot and if the problem continues, follow Method 2
Method 2: Downgrade To Previous Version
Method 1 itself works wonder, but if the problem persists then you should continue with this method. However, this method has been suggested on many blog posts and of course, it has worked for many people, including me.How To Downgrade To Previous Version Of Windows 10:
1.) First of all, head back to Method 1 and follow the steps on how to boot Windows 10 to Windows Recovery Environment (winRE)2.) Click on Advance Start-up

3.) Click on Troubleshoot and then, head toAdvance option

4.) Click on Downgrade to previous version and Uninstall Latest Update, answer the reason why you want to uninstall it and proceed.


5.) After Uninstalling the update, it'll now reinstall the previous update, this process will take much time.
However, after the steps provided in this article, your computer will now boot successfully and you can now reinstall your previous apps again.
