Windows Defender is a real-time antivirus tool that Microsoft integrated into Windows from Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10. Up to now, Windows Defender is still one of the tools to protect Windows from viruses. quite effective, if the user does not want to use 3rd party anti-virus software.
However, for some reason, some Windows users often turn off or even disable Windows Defender on their PC or Laptop.
But it seems that Microsoft has decided to stop allowing users to permanently disable Windows Defender in the upcoming Windows 10 update.
According to a document released by Microsoft (via Windows Latest), Microsoft announced they will Do not allow users to disable Windows Defender on PC, Laptop running Windows 10 anymore:
"DisableAntiSpyware is a specified script that can help turn off Microsoft Defender Antivirus. Microsoft Defender Antivirus is a tool that can prevent, remove, and quarantine malware, including spyware. Install DisableAntiSpyware. has been discontinued and will be ignored on Windows 10 devices since the August 2020 update of Microsoft Defender Antivirus (version 4.18.2007.8) ." Microsoft said in a statement.
Microsoft has not given a reason why they decided to prevent users from permanently disabling Windows Defender. Currently there are many ways for users to permanently disable or disable Windows Defender on Windows 10 such as through editing the Registry, using the Windows Group Policy Editor, 3rd party tools, etc.
Of course, the fact that Microsoft stopped allowing users to permanently disable Windows Defender in the upcoming Windows 10 update could make some users "dislike" Windows Defender feel outrage, especially users " cr @ ck ".
