According to the latest statistics, iPhone 11 is the best-selling phone model in the world as of the first half of 2020 until now.

Statistics released by analyst firm Omdia recently show that iPhone 11 is still the best-selling smartphone globally in the first half of 2020, surpassing many other stalwart Android competitors.

The iPhone 11 model is significantly more affordable than the iPhone 11 Pro series, but it still uses the latest Apple A13 Bionic chip, the main camera and wide-angle camera similar to the Pro model.

Sales of the iPhone 11 model are estimated at 37.7 million units in the first half of this year. These sales have essentially followed the success of the iPhone XR last year, while also continuing to break new records. In the same period last year, the iPhone XR was the best-selling iPhone model in the world with about 26.9 million units sold on the market.

What's more interesting is that Apple owns up to 5 iPhone models in the top 10 best-selling smartphones in the first half of 2020. Specifically, the iPhone SE (2020) is priced at $400, although it was only released in late April but so far reached 8.7 million units at the end of June, ranked 5th place. Meanwhile, the iPhone XR model, although launched last year, is still selling very well with sales of 8 million units.

Another interesting piece of information is that the iPhone 11 Pro Max model with the largest size is selling better than the iPhone 11 Pro. Apple specifically sold 7.7 million iPhone 11 Pro Max units while it sold 6.7 million iPhone 11 Pro units.

In addition to iPhone models, some Android smartphone models in the top 10 must include popular Android smartphone models priced below $ 300. Surprisingly, no Android flagship model made it into the list of the top 10 best-selling smartphones in the first half of 2020.

Specifically, the second smartphone model in terms of sales is Samsung Galaxy A51 with sales of up to 11.4 million units. Despite its second place, its sales aren't even a third of the iPhone 11's.

Some smartphone models from the Xiaomi manufacturer were also lucky to fall, for example, the Redmi Note 8 model came in third place with sales of 11 million units. The Redmi Note 8 Pro model has sales of about 10.2 million units. The remaining models on the list are Redmi 8A and Redmi 8.

The reason why cheap smartphone models are among the best-selling smartphones globally in the first half of the year is because they often target emerging markets where the demand for cheap smartphones is often higher than in other markets.
