Lots of people who had been setting their iPhone, iPad, or MacBook for the
first time got disappointed as that they had
trouble setting up and signing
in on the system on the event of Christmas.
The iCloud backend suffered issues too as folks tried to set up the devices they got on the event of Christmas. The issue was first noticed by Apple Insider on Friday(25 December) which has been resolved now.
The problem that prevented folks from signing in has not been specified yet. It began on Christmas Day and was fixed early on December 27 as per Apple’s System Status webpage. Apple is yet to disclose what led to this downside in the backend.
The issues weren't just limited to iPhones or iPads however users faced these issues with their newly bought Apple Watch and HomePod mini as well.
Some even shared their issues on Twitter to which Apple Support acknowledged it and affirmed that the system will be up and running shortly.
An Apple product user tweeted, “Hey there, is there an estimate of when the Apple ID sign-in issue will be resolved? Trying to set up my mom’s new iPad and HomePod mini but keep running into sign-in issues”
Apple replied by tweet: “We're experiencing an excessive capacity at this time which is effecting your ability to set up your iCloud, please try back in a few hours,”.
