For the iPhone 14 series expected to be released this fall, there are rumors that the mini model will be cancelled, but four models will be maintained, namely iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The British market research agency Omdia recently published a report that Apple will continue to maintain the practice of providing screen panels from three suppliers.
The three that have become screen panel suppliers for the iPhone 14 series are China's BOE and South Korea's Samsung Display and LG Display.
The two Korean companies will supply 60% and 25% of Apple's supply in 2022, respectively; as for BOE, it will account for 15% of the overall iPhone screen panel supply.
Omdia estimates that Apple's panel demand will exceed 205 million this year, an increase from 172 million in 2021, but the growth rate has plummeted from 50% last year to less than 20% this year.
What’s more surprising about the Omdia report is that BOE continues to be on the supply list. Earlier it was reported that the Chinese company had changed the panel design without permission and was removed from the iPhone 13 supplier list by Apple. As a result, they could continue to supply the iPhone 14 series panel, unaffected by previous negative news.
