Rumor has it that Nintendo Direct may arrive towards the end of the month, many sources (including former game journalist at IGN,and current game writer at Sony Santa Monica, Alanah Pearce) however claimed that it'll be revealed the 29th of June, 2022. The console maker is expected to announce its Fall 2022 lineup for the Nintendo Switch at the event.

According to previous report from Twisted Voxel, it was rumored that Nintendo Direct is set to be revealed on the 15th of this month but it didn't happen, hence these new sources claimed that the new date is fixed to be on the 29th of June, 2022., and thus, seems more credible and certain of what they've heard.

Alanah Pearce, a former journalist at IGN game has said that Nintendo didn’t inform her regarding the schedule of the forthcoming Nintendo Direct. She’s likely heard it from elsewhere, much like the other sources. According to what she said, Alanah appears to know about the reveals and announcements set to happen during the event. However, out of respect for the event, she’s chosen not to spoil anything.

Meanwhile, Nate Drake, another source on the other hand has also claimed that the leak is accurate. In addition, Centro Leaks and Direct-Feed Games on Twitter have both claimed that the forthcoming Nintendo Direct is scheduled to happen on June 29, 2022. The latter also claims that the event was never set for June 15, and that it had been slated for June 29 for many weeks.

For the uninitiated, Nintendo Direct is a series of online presentations or live broadcasts created by Nintendo in which the firm presents information on new content or franchises, such as games and systems. On October 21, 2011, the inaugural edition of the presentations took place in Japan and North America, before spreading to Europe, Australia, and South Korea.

A single Nintendo Direct is typically localised for a simultaneous international broadcast when the subject has a large international appeal. These are usually recorded in Japanese and delivered by a Japanese host. Prior to Satoru Iwata’s death, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata would host Directs in both English and Japanese, with subtitles for additional languages.

Nintendo Directs did not have a worldwide host after Iwata’s death until 2017, when Nintendo EPD’s Yoshiaki Koizumi took over. Koizumi has shared this task with Shinya Takahashi since 2018. Since 2017, however, the roles of the Japanese host and any narrators have been dubbed or subtitled for international distribution, including in English.
