This product line is expected to continue to have 4 models but only have 2 different sizes, namely iPhone 14 regular version 6.1 inch, iPhone 14 Pro 6
With the arrival of the iPhone 14 Max, Apple will finally allow consumers to get a large yet affordable iPhone. So compared to iPhone 14 Pro Max, will this phone cut these features to be cheaper?

Design and Display:

So far, it seems that the iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Max will use the same design language with the body being a combination of a sturdy metal frame and two polished glass front and back. Both these phones have flat beveled bezels and a fairly large square camera cluster, located in the top left corner of the back.

The big difference here will be found in the camera and display department . In particular, the iPhone 14 Pro Max will retain the triple camera setup that was first introduced on the iPhone 11 Pro Max. This phone is also said to switch to using a more modern round hole punch + pill design to house the selfie camera as well as the Face ID sensors.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 Max still seems to use the notch design that first appeared on the iPhone X and has a dual camera setup on the back. So this is basically just an enlarged iPhone 14.

One new aspect that may be common to both devices is the thinner bezels. In terms of colors, Apple has always kept its Pro models separate from the standard models, and it doesn't look like this will change with the iPhone 14 series. The iPhone 14 Max can come in the following colors: Midnight, Starlight, Sky Blue , Product RED and Purple. Meanwhile, the iPhone 14 Pro Max may come in Graphite, Silver, Gold, and Purple colors.

In terms of screens, both phones will come with similarly sized 6.7-inch OLED displays. The main difference will be in the refresh rate as the more affordable model will have a standard 60Hz refresh rate, while the high-end model will have a 120Hz LTPO display.

A big advantage of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max pairing is the Always On Display feature, which allows the watch face and other useful information to be displayed on the screen at all times. In addition, Face ID will remain the biometric option on the iPhone 14 "family".

Performance and Software:

The main hardware difference between these two phones will be the chipset powering each phone. The iPhone 14 Pro Max will have a newer generation Apple A16 Bionic chipset, while the iPhone 14 Max will use last year's Apple A15 Bionic chip. This will be the first time that Apple differentiates its higher-end iPhone models by chipsets.

Of course, Apple A15 is still a powerful processor, so iPhone 14 Max users will still get the best experience.

Talking about the Apple A16 Bionic, it is expected to be manufactured on 5nm technology by TMSC and bring some performance improvements over the A15 Bionic. In terms of memory, both the iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max are said to use 6GB of RAM. However, the more expensive iPhone Pro models will have memory options up to 1TB.

Regarding software updates, iPhone will support software updates from 5 to 6 years. Both iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max will be updated until 2027 or 2028.

Finally, the iPhone 14 quartet will all support 5G and will even support satellite connections.

On the iPhone 14 Pro Max, Apple is expected to bring major improvements in photography capabilities. Specifically, this phone is expected to have a new and significantly larger main camera sensor with 1/1.3-inch and 48MP resolution. The camera will also support the 4-pixel-to-1 pixel binning algorithm to capture better quality 12MP photos and support ultra-sharp 8K video recording.

The secondary cameras of the iPhone 14 Pro Max are expected to include a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 12MP telephoto camera that supports impressive optical zoom.

Meanwhile, iPhone 14 Max will use the same camera setup as on iPhone 14: 12MP main camera + 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, providing the same overall image quality as iPhone 13 .

Battery life and charging:

When it comes to iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max, we can safely expect that these phones have impressive battery life. An iPhone's battery capacity is usually only revealed after the phone goes on sale. However, based on the size of the two devices, the iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Max will have batteries on par with the iPhone 13 Pro Max - at least 4,352mAh.

Combined with a more efficient chipset, the iPhone 14 Pro Max will likely break the battery life record of its predecessor, while the iPhone 14 Max can achieve the same battery life as the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Regarding charging, Apple will probably equip the iPhone 14 Pro Max with 27W wired fast charging technology and the iPhone 14 Max with 20W wired charging. Both will have 15W MagSafe wireless charging.
