According to report from 9to5Mac, Analyst Kuo says Apple may have to change its suppliers once again as some iPhone 14 rear camera lenses have suffered from "quality issues".
The analyst revealed that some of the camera lenses supplied by Genius "suffered from coating quality issues". Kuo states in the same tweet that Apple has already transferred an order of approximately 10 million units of lenses from Genius to Largan, another Taiwanese company specializing in lens manufacturing, to avoid significant delays in the production of the iPhone 14.
Despite these setbacks, Ming-Chi Kuo believes Largan is more than capable of closing the gap. Based on his experience, it should take Genius up to two months to resolve coating breakage problems in his lenses.
If that takes longer, Largan should continue to be the primary lens provider for the iPhone 14 range.
Finally, Kuo said the impact on the iPhone 14 shipments will be minimal thanks to the intervention of the new supplier which will hopefully solve the problem.
Shipments of the iPhone 14 are expected to exceed those of the iPhone 13 with Samsung set to ship 80 million iPhone 14 displays in the third quarter of this year.

One more quality issue. My latest survey indicates one of Genius's iPhone 14 rear lenses likely suffered from coating-crack (膜裂) quality issues. Apple had transferred about 10 million lens orders to Largan from Genius to avoid affecting iPhone 14 shipments. https://t.co/CsQtmHLZjy
