Besides the flagship Huawei Mate 50, the manufacturer from China is also accelerating the development of HarmonyOS operating system with version 3.0, expected to be officially released at the end of this July.

According to a statement from Huawei, HarmonyOS 3.0 fixes all errors that users encountered on OS 2.0, uses new algorithms, improves smoothness when performing tasks and many other notable changes.

During the press conference, the company also said that nine devices can pre-install HarmonyOS 3.0 through the beta program.

According to the company, devices that support the public beta include:
  • Huawei P50
  • Huawei P50 Pro
  • Huawei-P50 Pocket
  • Huawei Mate 40
  • Huawei Mate 40 Pro
  • Huawei-Mate 40 Pro 4G
  • Huawei Mate 40 Pro+
  • Huawei Mate 40 RS 'Porsche Design'
  • Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6-inch (model 2021).

Since the public beta supports direct upgrades from HarmonyOS 2.0, there are speculations that most devices using OS 2.0 currently can upgrade to version 3.0.

In addition, it is reported that in the developer preview version of HarmonyOS 3.0, continuous innovation has been made around the three core values of system architecture, superlative, single times and multi-terminal deployment. It also brings a comprehensive upgrade to the system and development tools.

As for the Huawei Mate 50 series, initial reports claim that although they use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, they will only support 4G connectivity technology.
