Recently, Volkswagen has release the first electric flying car prototype, it is said that the car can carry four people to fly 200 kilometers
Flying cars may be the next travel outlet, and automakers including Xiaopeng are investing in research and have achieved certain results.

According to report, we learned that Volkswagen Group (China) released its first electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) manned aircraft prototype.

Statistics show that in 2020, Volkswagen Group (China) will launch an air mobility project, aiming to explore next-generation mobility solutions, including the urban air transportation market and the expansion of urban transportation to airspace.

After more than two years of hard work, the project team has now completed the first verification machine V.MO. To commemorate the completion of this milestone in the Chinese lunar year of the tiger, the exterior design of the prototype adopts a unique black and gold color scheme, which means "more powerful".

The prototype is based on existing autonomous driving solutions and battery technology. It is designed as a luxurious X-wing configuration with a wing length of 11.2 meters and a wingspan of 10.6 meters. It has eight rotors for vertical take-off and landing and two for heading horizontal propelling propeller.

It is understood that the Volkswagen Group will further optimize the plan through several rounds of flight tests in the second half of this year, and the improved prototype will undergo a higher standard test flight at the end of summer 2023.

After mass production, this pure electric, fully autonomous flying eVTOL manned aircraft will eventually fly up to 200 kilometers for four passengers and luggage.
