Activision and Infinity Ward are heating up the engines for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and for that, the companies showed the title's development process.
To capture the sound and create the audio design, the producers used real tanks, recreated weapons and dedicated themselves to creating an immersive experience.
Stephen Miller, the audio director, explained that creating a game is a difficult process "because it's all interactive."
In a movie, things happen in a linear way, but the player has the freedom to do what he wants. So the team worked to make the most of all the features to deliver a complete product.
Miller cited an interesting fact about 3D audio. Companies have improved resource targeting, so it will be more natural to hear enemy footsteps and identify their position from sound.
