Recent rumors shared by Bloomberg have suggested a pause in the development of Knights of the Old Republic Remake.

Familiar sources indicated the existence of "serious problems" internally and mentioned "unexpected" layoffs of employees at high hierarchical levels at Aspyr.

Embracer Group directed development of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake to Saber Interactive in Eastern Europe.

Due to problems in its production, the game leaves Aspyr Media - studio of the original game - and has a new home, in order to be recreated as a high-level AAA for players.

Recently, a report published by Embracer confirmed the exchange of developers for a major industry project. Without mentioning any franchise or subsidiary companies, the company said the move was taken as a way of maintaining the game's intended quality — and many fans suggested a direct reference to Star Wars.

Now, a report published by Jason Schreier of Bloomberg, has confirmed the origin of the rumors. With the transfer, Embracer doesn't expect "any material delay" in production, but remains unannounced about an expected release date.
