Activision announces Call of Duty: Warzone mobile game, more details about the game will be revealed in Mid-September
Activision had previously launched a new project, code-named "Project Aurora", which is said to be the "Call of Duty: Warzone" mobile game.

Yesterday, Activision officially announced the "Call of Duty Warzone Mobile" mobile game, and released the first trailer for the new game.

According to the official introduction, this is a "new Call of Duty experience specially created for the mobile terminal".

The official description says it's a Call of Duty game with a 120-player lobby and some sort of shared progression, and it also mentions that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will have pre-registration open for a chance to unlock rewards at launch.

According to reports, this is a new game jointly developed by four studios (Solid State Studios, Beenox, Activision Shanghai and Digital Legends), and more information will be announced at the COD NEXT conference on September 15.

In addition to the mobile game, Activision is also developing Warzone 2.0 for consoles, and Activision will share more details about the game at its September 15 launch event.

The trailer only has 9 seconds of footage, showing a plane flying above the clouds, but veteran Warzone players may find it familiar. A brief view of the plane looks identical to the original intro sequence of the Verdansk map in Modern Warfare.

AndroBliz has reported that the game was announced in March 2020 and attracted 100 million players within 13 months. Last August, Activision announced the formation of a mobile game development studio called Solid State, which was set up to develop new titles in the Call of Duty franchise.

It was later confirmed that Beenox, Activision Shanghai, and Digital Legends, which was acquired by Vision last year, are also involved in the development of the new Call of Duty mobile game in 2021.
