Huawei Mate 50 series launched, supporting satellite communication. No information if the devices will be available for International market for now..
Huawei recently introduced the Mate50 series with 3 versions: Mate50, Mate50 Pro and Mate50 RS Porsche Design.

All 3 versions are equipped with the powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, but the version only supports 4G. This is due to the US embargo policy imposed on Huawei in recent years. The design of the Mate50 series is still quite familiar with the "multi-hole" camera on the back with a "rabbit ears" screen on the front.

The Huawei Mate50 series has a 6.7-inch screen on all 3 versions, using OLED panels, FHD + resolution and protected by Huawei's self-developed tempered glass called Kunlun Glass. The screen of the Pro and RS versions is still a rather outdated "rabbit ears" screen, where the 13MP selfie camera and ToF 3D camera cluster are located. While the standard version is a "mole" screen because there is no ToF.

On the back, the Mate50 usually has a cluster of 3 main cameras: 50MP wide-angle, 13MP ultra-wide angle and 12MP OIS periscope 5X telephoto. The Pro version upgrades the periscope camera to 64MP with a focal factor reduced to 3.5X, while the Pro version reduces the periscope camera resolution to 48MP, the other cameras are kept the same.

Huawei Mate50 series uses Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip with 5G modem cut version, so it only supports 4G LTE network no matter which market it is sold in. The battery of the standard version has a capacity of 4460mAh, the Pro and RS versions are 4700mAh, supports 66W fast charging, 50W wireless.

A unique feature of the Mate50 series is the ability to support satellite communications, using the Beidou Satellite Mesasge 3 navigation system, allowing users to send messages and location without the need for cellular signal. This feature is rumored to appear on the upcoming iPhone 14.

The selling price of the Mate50 series starts at 4999 Yuan ($720) for non-pro version (128 GB), 6799 Yuan ($980) for pro version (256 GB), and 12,999 Yuan ($1,870) for the RS Porsche design. Meanwhile, there's no comment whether the machines will be available for international market.
