During last Saturday's showcase, Ubisoft unveiled the first official details of Mirage in a never-before-seen CGI. Games like Codename Hexe and Codename Red also appeared as news and will integrate the connected hub Infinity, still without a scheduled release date.
According to the report from Eurogamer, Ubisoft's Jean-Luc Sala and Marc-Alexis Côté have denied rumors about a possible Assassin's Creed remake release.
In an interview with Axios, the devs confirmed that only the titles announced during last Saturday's Ubisoft Forward are in production.
Speculation about the remake gained traction shortly before the publisher's event, when youtuber “j0nathan” revealed apparently leaked details of Assassin's Creed Mirage.
According to him, the reimagining of the first game in the series was part of a “secret” plan by the publisher and would be integrated into the Season Pass of the new title.
"Yes, that's not what we're doing," Sala said in a statement sent to Eurogamer. “I am totally dedicated to Mirage and I can say that we are not remaking Assassin's Creed 1.”
However, Ubisoft completely denied the development of the game and completed with new conclusions about the rumors. In addition to the Assassin's Creed remake, a possible "crossover" series set in Egypt is unlikely to reach fans of the franchise.
