Apple Optimizes iOS 16 Lock Screen Notification Experience, Introduces Three Display Methods: Count, Stack, And List

In order to cooperate with the new lock screen Widget, Apple redesigned the notification system in iOS 16. Starting this year, notifications appear at the bottom of the lock screen instead of below the clock area.

While this change is controversial among iPhone users, it may improve your notification experience by adjusting the way notifications are displayed.

However, Apple introduced three notification methods in the iOS 16 lock screen notification, namely Count, Stack and List.

count

Will replace notifications on the lock screen with a simple text telling you how many unread notifications you have. You can swipe up to see a full list of your notifications.

stack

Get all notifications from the app and display them in a stack. Therefore, you can set separate notification groups for each app on the lock screen and in the notification center.

list

This is the notification of the traditional iOS system in previous years. You'll see a list of all your notifications, which you can expand by swiping up from the bottom of the lock screen.

Although Apple provides three ways to display lock screen notifications in iOS 16, unfortunately, the display position of these notifications cannot be adjusted, which means that notifications can only be displayed at the bottom.
