With the arrival of God of War Ragnarok, it didn't take long for fans to compare the game's Thor to that of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Recently, Journalist Geoff Keighley revealed, this Monday (14), the nominees and their respective categories for The Game Awards 2022. PlayStation dominates the awards and has about 20 nominations — ten of which are for God of War Ragnarok alone.

Second place with the most mentions is tied between Elden Ring and Horizon Forbidden West, with seven nominations each. Check out the list of categories that the Santa Monica game competes for below:
  • Best Action/Adventure;
  • Best Innovation in Accessibility;
  • Best Performance — with two nominations: Christopher Judge (Kratos) and Sunny Suljic (Atreus);
  • Best Audio Design;
  • Best Soundtrack;
  • Best Art Direction;
  • Best Narrative;
  • Best Game Direction;
  • Game of the Year.

In addition to God of War Ragnarok, other PS Studios titles were also featured in The Game Awards nominations. The Last of Us Part I, Gran Turismo 7, the Uncharted movie, SIFU and the acclaimed Stray are some of the other names mentioned - remembering that the last two were released first on PlayStation and PC.

Of course, God of War Ragnarok and Elden Ring are the most talked about names for the Game of the Year mug, as their averages on Metacritic are 94 and 96 points, respectively. Remembering that the popular vote is now available on the official website.
