According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro models coming next year will achieve higher data transfer speeds thanks to the conversion from Lightning to USB-C.
While all iPhone 15 models will switch to a USB-C port instead of a Lightning port, only the iPhone 15 Pro models will achieve higher data transfer speeds than before.
Ming-Chi Kuo says that data transfer speeds will "significantly increase" with iPhone 15 Pro models, at least using USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3 ports.
Once upgraded, iPhone 15 Pro models will have the ability to transfer video files or other file types at higher speeds, which Kuo predicts will greatly improve the user experience.
The transfer rate of the USB 2.0 port reaches a maximum of 480Mb/s, while the transfer rate of the USB 3.2 port is up to 20Gb/s.
The Thunderbolt 3 port supports transfer speeds of up to 40Gb/s, so if it's as Kuo says, the regular iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Pro models will have a significant difference in data transfer speeds.
Apple is in the process of converting its product lines to USB-C ports and the first shot will be the iPhone models launching next year.
Apple is slowly changing to comply with European regulations - electronic devices are not allowed to monopolize the method of charging.

I predict that 15 Pro & 15 Pro Max will support at least USB 3.2 or Thunderbolt 3. This spec upgrade means the wired transfer and video output user experience will significantly improve.
