According to journalist Jeff Grubb, the new Deus Ex has the ability to "do what Cyberpunk 2077 didn't." He commented on the possible expectations of the new owner of the studio and drew a parallel with the title of CD Projekt RED as both IPs have the same concept of a dystopian future dominated by technology.

However, the new Deus Ex is said to be in the early stages of development, according to journalist Jason Schreier, one of the most respected names in the video game industry.

He revealed the information following the announcement of the closing of Square Enix Montreal by the Embracer Group.

Schreier explained that while Square Enix Montreal (or Onoma) was shut down, the other studio, Eidos Montreal, remains intact and with three projects in the works: a new IP, a new Deus Ex, and an Xbox partnership that includes Fable.

Apparently, we should not hear anything about the new Deus Ex precisely because it is at a very early stage. Titles often spend years in pre-production before they actually come to the public.
