Recently, Tom Henderson gave more details about the content included in WRC 23. He comments that the high-budget title will feature a robust editing tool and over 16 different customizable vehicle classes.

However, after announcing the definitive end of the Project Cars franchise, Electronic Arts may have abandoned another popular racing series.

According to a report published by insider Tom Henderson, DiRT has also been canceled and will not receive new games in the future.

Anonymous sources shared with the journalist (via Insider Gaming ) that the pivot to the end of so many projects was EA's recent acquisition of Codemasters.

With that, the studio's focus would be on developing annual F1, GRID and World Rally Championship titles — with the next ones already in early stages of production.

The lack of space for possible DiRT games is due not only to the success of its “cousins”, but also to its own approach. As the series is set in rally scenarios, EA would believe that continuity is unnecessary and the best thing is to focus on the AAA of the WRC series, this one scheduled for 2023.

So far, Electronic Arts and Codemasters have not commented on the case. Therefore, all information should be treated as rumors.
