The 3DS game "Mario Kart 7" has recently received the second update in its history, and it has been 10 years since the last update. This version 1.2 update focuses on fixing several issues and improving the overall game experience.

AndroBliz learned that the 1.1 version update of "Mario Kart 7" was released on May 15, 2012, and the 1.2 version update released yesterday (December 13, 2022) is 10 years apart. Nintendo did not provide a detailed introduction to the update, but wrote:

Version 1.2 (released December 13, 2022)

  • regular update
  • Fixed several issues to improve game experience.

Version 1.1 (released May 15, 2012)

  • Eliminates shortcut exploits when playing the Wuhu Loop, Maka Wuhu and Bowser Castle 1 tracks in online multiplayer mode.

Nintendo hasn't actually revealed what's going on behind the scenes of this update, but it could easily be tied to the closure of the online service or the 3DS e-store (closed March 27, 2023). Data analyst OatmealDome speculated that this patch may fix some security holes.
