The first moments of the reimagining show a lot of loyalty to the classic, released in 2008 for PS3
In an official blog post at the end of November, Roy Tuazon, associate art director at EA Motive, revealed that the new Ishimura from Dead Space Remake will have completely overhauled zero gravity mechanics.

However, the long-awaited remake of Dead Space had a new gameplay released this Monday (05). This time, the content focuses on the first 18 minutes of the reimagining and, despite the familiarity with the original product, the visuals are quite different compared to the 2008 classic.

Published on YouTube by IGN , the video focuses on the first moments of the game, when Engineer Isaac and other crew members are on a ship and crash into the USG Ishimura. It is still possible to see the intimidating setting of the remake, as well as the clash against the first monsters.

Check out the new Dead Space gameplay below and a separate video with the first 10 minutes of the original game for you to compare.

According to EA, the Dead Space remake is a love letter to longtime fans of the franchise. The title is being developed on the Frostbite engine and will have "enhancement of story, characters and gameplay mechanics".

The reimagining launches on January 27th for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
