An alternative skin for the heroine Kiriko caught the attention of fans after the close of the last edition of the Overwatch League.

Exclusive to those who followed the event, the costume puts the characters in new colors, as well as their kitsune fox.

In an interview with GameSpot, Blizzard devs clarified the possibility of a new hero debuting in Overwatch 2. According to designer Alec Dawson and art director Dion Rogers, fans have been asking for a character with a flamethrower, but there are some barriers to creating that identity.

Player requests have been made repeatedly for years on internet forums. And despite this whole time in discussion, the topic did not advance and the second game in the franchise was released without a character from the category.

Dawson and Rogers gave their views on creating a hero with a flamethrower. They reinforced their interest in developing it, but expressed, shortly thereafter, that there was some difficulty in a possible launch.

“I always ask Alex for a flamethrower hero, but it's hard to create in our game,” says Rogers. Dawson completes by saying that “there are many [character concepts], especially with the world of Overwatch being so rich” and does not close the doors to the debut, stating “definitely” to be interested in exploring this idea.

Overwatch 2 is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC.
