Last Monday (05), Striking Distance Studios released update 1.06 for The Callisto Protocol, which aims to fix some performance issues and implement other improvements.

On the other hand, have you ever wondered what The Callisto Protocol would be like if it was released in the 90's for the PS1? Maybe it's difficult.

Luckily, youtuber “Stark Crafts” had the idea of producing a demake of the horror game based on Unreal Engine and Blender — and the result turned out amazing.

The video shows the protagonist Jacob exploring the Black Iron Prison, a maximum security space prison where the title is set.

The clashes against monsters, the dark rooms and the low-resolution polygons make the game look like an authentic survival horror from the 90s.

With a third-person narrative, The Callisto Protocol is set 300 years in the future. The player assumes the role of Jacob Lee, who, by fate, finds himself in Black Iron Prison, a maximum security penitentiary located on Callisto, one of the moons of Jupiter.

The game has a lower than expected score on Metacritic, where it is rated with an average of 73 points. The horror title is available now for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
